Construction Trades program at NEWTech Skill Center
Are you a student who learns best through hands-on projects? Do you like to build and create and be part of a team? Consider enrolling in the Construction Trades program at NEWTech Skill Center - one of 16 different programs that will help you achieve your post-high school education and career goals.
As a Construction student at NEWTech, you’ll try your hand at different elements in the construction trades, like framing, wiring, roofing, HVAC, and more! Students also learn how to use power tools, read blueprints and building plans, even rebuild a home from the studs at a live jobsite. They’ll also get to visit different apprenticeships and business to talk and learn from construction professionals and earn their OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, flagger and forklift certifications.
Construction Trades is a one or two-year program running five days a week, with students spending half their school day at NEWTech - either in the morning or the afternoon. Whatever works best for your high school schedule. Students can earn up to three CTE credits per year, as well as one math credit toward their graduation requirements.
