We have had so many requests to cover this song over the last few months… So here it is! Despacito (Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee) is definitely a big departure from our usual fare, and we know that this song has been covered countless times; however, we decided to arrange and post it because we knew we could bring something very different and exciting to this song. So, please give it a listen and a chance before you decide that you don’t like it simply because you don’t like the original song. We will continue to cross styles, genres and decades with our music! We have heard a lot of covers that utilize backtracks, but we didn’t want our harps to just be a karaoke voice-over. Everything that you hear is what we can play live on just two harps – no backtracks or overlays needed! Since we don’t have Latin American harps, we had to create techniques to give our arrangement a more Latin flair. If you watch carefully, you will see that we dampen the strings almost continuously throughout the piece. The dampening gives a percussive effect and allows each note to be heard clearly. We even took this to the extreme starting at 0:59 where Camille dampens the strings a split second after playing them. Also, Kennerly uses her nails to sharply and quickly strum the strings while simultaneous dampening the strings with the other hand, which also creates a fun percussive effect. You can hear this starting at 0:47. Some other things to watch/listen for are playing the strings close to the soundboard (which gives that section a more guitar-like feeling), sharply broken chords, and even a pitch bend (at the beginning of the piece). We hope you love our fun and unique arrangement as much as we do! In the least, please give us a thumbs-up for wearing 6” heels while playing huge harps that are strapped to our bodies. And we didn’t even sprain an ankle. ;) ;)

Filming this video was a challenge! After filming for a few hours, we were almost done when a gust of wind blew over our tripod – breaking our tripod and video camera. All of our video footage was lost. We went to a nearby electronics store, but the video cameras were too expensive and the experts said they couldn’t retrieve our footage. We shed a few tears and then pulled ourselves together. We asked our mom to walk around and film us with our iPhone – she had never filmed anything with an iPhone before. Thumbs up for mom! We went back to the video location (the same day we had filmed and lost our footage) and filmed this video! We hope you enjoy!

“Scarborough Fair” is an English folk song from the Middle Ages. We arranged this song years ago for harp duet, but we wanted to re-arrange it for harp duet as well as include all the lyrics. We don’t think we ever knew the true story behind the song because every artist we have every heard seems to sing only a couple of verses, which obscures the original meaning of the song. So, we included ALL of the original verses, and then decided to switch back and forth between the “male” and “female” perspectives. If you listen to the lyrics, the lovers are each giving the other a long, long, series of impossible tasks to “prove” their love… A little passive aggressive! Lol, x2 Some of the terms and references are antiquated, but we think that even listeners today can understand the story. Because we included all of the lyrics, our arrangement is quite long. However, you will hear – perhaps for the first time – the entire story of the lovers in “Scarborough Fair”! Plus, we had the opportunity to film at a real castle - the only castle in the world built by only one man: The Bettendorf Castle! We hope that our interpretation will grip your imagination and sweep you away to a mysterious fair in the Middle Ages.

“Dancing With Myself” (Billy Idol) has been on our “to do” list of covers for a long time because well… we’re twins! We get comments daily online from people saying that we’re just one person. We had so much fun playing with that by starting the piece with just one of us, and then having the other twin join in. However, for those people who insist that we’re one person, you can see us clasp hands at the end. ;) ;) We thought this was the perfect song to bring back our 2 Girls 1 Harp invention! Arranging this song for 1 harp was hugely challenging to begin with, but we also wanted to add a dancing element, so we twirl around the harp and switch sides 5 times! So, we switch off playing the harp correctly and playing the harp backwards (and from the side!) – and yes, that is extremely difficult! haha. You’ll also hear quite a bit of harp percussion! We hope you enjoy our interpretation of this timeless rock classic!
This video was filmed by our mom on our phone. Everything you hear in our arrangement is exactly how we can perform it live with our 2 harps and voices: no backing tracks, loops, or harp overlays. On 30th April 1994, Riverdance, the original seven-minute performance was the interval act at the Eurovision Song Contest at The Point Theatre, Dublin (now the 3Arena) and was broadcast to an estimated 300 million viewers worldwide.
As votes were being counted around Europe, Riverdance burst onto the stage and took the audience by complete surprise. From the haunting vocals of Anúna, the graceful elegance of Jean Butler, the explosive arrival of Michael Flatley and culminating in a long line of Irish dancers beating the stage in perfect heart-stopping harmony, a whole new genre of entertainment was born.

In today's video, we finally got to see the amazing Riverdance show! We have been wanting to see this for many years and they were showing their Riverdance 30 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale. We have never been to this Center before so we wanted to show you what the inside looked like and what our seats look like! It’s an older theater but it still was large and beautiful! We parked in the parking garage next door and it was an easy walk to the doors. They do have a concession stand with drinks and snacks. The show had two parts, with an intermission. Overall the show was about 2 hours. They ask you not to film or take photos during the show until the encore so we were able to get some great footage at the end! We loved the show and would recommend everyone checking out Riverdance!!! Thank you Riverdance for coming to Florida!

♦ Lectin avoidance diets also go under the name of autoimmune protocol (AIP for short).
♦ Most American chicken and beef contain antibiotics within them, so although you might not be taking antibiotics, you may still be indirectly consuming them.
♦ When NSAIDS such as ibuprofen were first introduced in the 1970s they were considered so harmful that they were only available under prescription.
♦ PPIs are terrible in general as one study showed a 44% increase in risk of dementia, and are also linked to chronic kidney disease. Additionally they prevent proper protein digestion, allowing more lectins (which are proteins) to survive their journey to the intestinal wall.
♦ The author does not recommend that healthy people completely eliminate gluten from their diets unless they know they have a sensitivity to it. If you starve your gut bacteria of gluten for a long period of time, the ones that digest it will eventually die off, and you might have issues with it once you inevitably consume gluten at some later point.
♦ If you are sensitive to casein A-1 in milk, you can try A-2 milk, which some companies sell. Or just consume goat and sheep products instead, which don’t contain casein A-1.
♦ Wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) found in whole wheat binds to glucosamines in our joints, so by taking exogenous glucosamine you can prevent the WGA from attacking your joints if you happen to ingest whole wheat. This also means that a simple way to test if you are being afflicted by WGA is to try taking glucosamine and see how your joints feels.
♦ WGA is actually an incredibly tiny lectin, which easily passes through the intestinal wall even if your gut health is good. According to Steven Gundry, in addition to binding to our joints and cornea (as mentioned in the video), it also binds to fat cells and causes them to grow larger, it blocks muscle cells from receiving sugar, and causes both kidney inflammation and atherosclerosis.

Catharine Arnston on Spirulina, Chlorella, Mitochondria, Detox, Brain Energy, and Longevity

Could one of the oldest foods on Earth also be one of the most overlooked tools for mitochondrial health, brain function, detoxification, and longevity?

Host Dave Asprey sits down with Catharine Arnston, founder of ENERGYbits and author of Love Your Health to Bits with Algae, to explore the biology of spirulina and chlorella and why these microscopic organisms have been studied for decades as unusually nutrient-dense foods.

Catharine explains the major differences between spirulina and chlorella, from how they are grown and processed to how she uses them for completely different purposes. Spirulina contains compounds including phycocyanin and superoxide dismutase that Catharine believes can support mitochondrial function, antioxidant defenses, cellular energy, and brain health, while chlorella is used primarily for binding and removing unwanted compounds such as heavy metals. They also discuss why water quality, sourcing, drying temperature, and processing can dramatically change the final product.

Dave and Catharine also explore methylene blue, psychedelics, exercise, brain aging, environmental toxins, nutrient density, food quality, algae farming, sustainable agriculture, and why maintaining mitochondrial function may become increasingly important with age.
