On October 29, 2026, approximately $6.3 BILLION in cryptocurrency was drained from Binance wallets across 10 blockchains, with most of the funds moving in roughly 20 minutes. Blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs attributed the attack to North Korea's TraderTraitor hacking group, the same group linked to the $1.5 billion Bybit hack.

But here's what makes this attack particularly interesting: Binance says there is no evidence that any wallet private keys were leaked.

So how did the attackers bypass the security protecting billions of dollars?

In this video, we break down the Binance hack from a cybersecurity perspective, following the suspected attack chain from a compromised DevOps engineer's laptop to internal service containers, unauthorized withdrawal requests, and compromised wallet signing infrastructure.

We also investigate the Ethereum side of the attack and explain how EIP-7702, Type 4 transactions, smart contract delegation, and 50 pre-signed authorizations allowed attackers to take control of a Binance hot wallet.
