David Sinclair, a professor at Harvard Medical School, has said that he thinks the first person who will live to the age of 150 is already alive today. During a panel discussion about longevity at the TIME100 Health Leadership Forum in New York City on Sept. 10, TIME executive editor Nikhil Kumar asked Sinclair what motivated him to say that.

“Children born today will live into the 22nd century, and just think about in the last five years what’s happened to our world; it’s barely recognizable when it comes to AI and even the healthcare world,” Sinclair replied. “So, in the 22nd century, children born today are going to have access to technologies that we literally cannot even imagine now.”

Sinclair was joined on stage by Jennifer Garrison, a neuroscientist with expertise in the women’s health biotech field, and Jack Jia, the founder and CEO of Musely, a telehealth platform aimed at expanding access to personalized prescription care that sponsored the event on Sept. 10.

Dr. Philip Ovadia is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with more than 5,000 heart surgeries and 25 years in the operating room. He grew up in New York and completed the accelerated Pre-Med/Med program at Penn State and Jefferson Medical College, followed by a General Surgery residency at UMDNJ and a Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship at Tufts – New England Medical Center. He founded Ovadia Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2020 and launched Ovadia Heart Health in 2021, a virtual clinic serving patients worldwide.

Once a morbidly obese, pre-diabetic heart surgeon headed for his own operating table, Dr. Ovadia lost over 100 pounds and reversed his pre-diabetes by focusing on metabolic health. He's the author of Stay Off My Operating Table and the new Stay Off My Kitchen Table, and hosts the Stay Off My Operating Table podcast. He lives in St. Petersburg, Florida.



Dr. Philip Ovadia has performed more than 5,000 heart surgeries across 25 years in the operating room. His conclusion after all of it: the vast majority of those surgeries never needed to happen.

In this episode we go after what really causes heart disease, and why the explanation medicine has run on for 50 years doesn't hold up.

We start with the obvious question: is cholesterol the cause of heart disease, or has it simply been showing up at the scene of the crime? Dr. Ovadia's fireman analogy will permanently change how you read a lipid panel. Firemen are at every fire and never where there isn't one. That doesn't make them arsonists. Cholesterol is the repair crew, not the cause.

The actual root is insulin resistance and the inflammation that follows it. So we get practical about how to test for insulin resistance: the fasting insulin test that costs under $20 and almost no doctor orders, the HOMA-IR you can calculate yourself in under a minute, and the LPIR test that measures the quality of your cholesterol particles instead of the quantity. He also answers what is a normal fasting insulin level, and explains why the "normal" range printed on your lab report is set far too high to protect you.

Then we get into the medications. Do statins actually work, and if cholesterol were truly the primary cause, why is the absolute risk reduction only 1 to 4 percent? We also cover what more than five years of statin use does to insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes risk. And we settle the question of should I take a baby aspirin every day, including the one specific number on a coronary calcium score that changes the answer entirely.

On food: does red meat cause heart disease? His billboard answer is "meat is medicine," and he defends it as essential to heart health rather than a threat to it. That leads straight into my own bloodwork. After my 90-day carnivore experiment, my total cholesterol hit 450 and my LDL hit 350. So is high LDL dangerous on carnivore? Dr. Ovadia reviewed my labs and told me my heart disease risk had actually gone down. His reasoning is worth the watch on its own.

We also cover the signs of insulin resistance you can see without any blood draw at all: skin tags around the eyelids and neck, dark velvety patches, stubborn belly fat, the energy crash 45 minutes after eating. With 93 percent of Americans carrying some version of this, most people will recognize something.

Age reversal: David Sinclair's company has dosed the first human with epigenetic reprogramming. The trial is real, it is first-in-human, and its primary endpoint is safety.

On January 15, 2026 the FDA authorized it. On June 9 a patient received an injection into one eye, carrying instructions to partially reset the age of the cells inside it. It is the first time partial epigenetic reprogramming has been tried in a human being.

So what do we actually know? Less than the headlines suggest, and more than you would think.

The trial is ER-100, from Life Biosciences, co-founded by Harvard geneticist David Sinclair. He is the principal in this story, not a commentator on it, and this video says so up front. It enrolls 18 people. It lists 21 primary outcome measures, and every one of them is safety. It is not designed to answer whether age reversal works.

This walks what actually happened, in order: the 2020 Nature mouse result, the primate data, the FDA authorization, the first dose. Then what the registry actually commits to measuring. Then the part worth knowing: why they used 3 of the 4 Yamanaka factors instead of all 4, and why the therapy only runs while the patient takes an antibiotic. The most interesting thing in the first human age-reversal trial is not the reprogramming. It is the off switch.

VERIFICATION: Checked August 5, 2026. NO Phase 1 results have been published. ClinicalTrials.gov NCT07290244 reports has Results = false, status RECRUITING. If that has changed by the time you are watching, this video describes the period before the first readout.

Storyline:
Sartana, bounty hunter and gunfighter, witnesses the robbery of a shipment of gold. He finds his way into town where he meets with a lot of suspicious stares from the locals. He also meets with Samuel Spencer, who seems to own the company in this company town. The gold shipments are being stolen, so Spencer agrees to hire Sartana to protect the next gold shipment. Numerous dull-witted villains make attempts on Sartana's life, but he survives. Eventually, Sartana's nemesis Sabbath (he of the white coat and parasol) rides into town. With a showdown inevitable, Sartana and Sabbath square off to settle the score.

"There's so much insane gun play in this film I was hardly in need of a plot. At one point, there's a bandit lighting matches stuffed between his toes for a laugh, and then along comes Sartana, knocks the guy out by shooting a sign that falls on the guy's head, then Sartana lights the last match by shooting it, then sparks up a cigar using the match! Why didn't this film win dozens of Oscars?

You've got Sartana after gold, the bandits after gold, some shady businessmen after gold, the gold miners after their own gold (how dare they!), and a bar owning chick...after gold. Oh, and another gunslinger called Sabbath after gold. He carries a white parasol, reads Shakespeare's sonnets, and constantly refers to his mother. Again, why no Oscars?

There's also a running gag where the bandits constantly try to get the drop on Sartana, but Sartana's always got a pistol hidden somewhere. I can't think of a single slow spot in this film at all, and Stelvio Massi's hyperactive camera-work coupled with Carnimeo's direction make for one of the more entertaining Italian Westerns." It has some nice humor, a few powerful (yet quite exaggerated) scenes and all in all feels smooth and somehow "cool". It is by no menas revolutionary and you shouldn't expect too many surprising plot twists or brilliant story choices but if you're just looking for some well produced and solid Western Action, you will have your fun and might even forget about the horrible German version of the title."
