If you have age spots on your face and hands, you’re often offered lasers or creams that don’t work or make matters worse.
Hyperpigmentation, or age spots, is caused by melanin, the naturally occurring pigment in your skin that protects you from ultraviolet light and free radical damage. Dark spots on the skin are actually a protective mechanism.
Melanin spots are caused by uneven melanin production, which means there’s a problem with the regulator in the melanocyte, the cell that produces melanin. This is often caused by oxidative stress.
Glutathione regulates melanin and reduces oxidation. Without enough glutathione, you can’t regulate melanin, which can lead to melanin spots.
Low selenium can cause your glutathione levels to decline. Two Brazil nuts per day offer all the selenium you need. You can also get selenium from shellfish. High-quality animal protein is vital for glutathione production.
The demand for glutathione increases in menopausal women. If you’re dealing with chronic stress, you’ll also need more glutathione.

Carbohydrates are not all the same. They come in three forms: sugar, starch, and fiber. Starch is simply a chain of sugar molecules.
Unlike sugar and starch, fiber cannot be digested by the body. Instead, it feeds the microbes in your gut and does not turn into sugar.
People with insulin resistance often do not tolerate carbohydrates well. Insulin resistance is commonly linked to the chronic consumption of refined starches and refined sugar.
The glycemic index ranks carbohydrates based on how quickly they raise blood sugar. Surprisingly, industrial starches can spike your blood sugar even more than table sugar.

Did you know that your legs can give early warning signs about underlying health conditions? The older you are, the more relevant this becomes! The following conditions that affect the legs can provide insight into your longevity and overall health.
1. Peripheral neuropathy
These symptoms of numbness, pain, tingling, or burning in the bottom of the feet or fingertips are often associated with diabetes. High levels of sugar in the bloodstream destroy the vascular and nervous systems.
2. Ankle and foot edema
Puffy legs and ankles, or pitting edema, often signify a serious problem with circulation involving the kidney, liver, or heart.
3. Restless legs syndrome
This often occurs at night and is related to the overconsumption of sugar. Interference with your sleep can decrease longevity. Dietary changes, vitamin B1, and magnesium may help improve this condition.
4. Deep vein thrombosis
Clots in the legs can break off and travel to the lungs. Around 90% to 95% percent of heart attacks are caused by clots.

6. Chronic venous insufficiency

After over 100 music videos, we thought it should finally be time for a Beach Boys cover! “Good Vibrations” seemed like the perfect conclusion to our summer video line-up. Although most would think of doing a Beach Boys cover on the beach, these Nordic girls get our “good vibrations” from a different type of scenery and environment. ;) ;) So, we chose to film this video at 8,000 feet elevation in the mountains of Utah! This song was a HUGE challenge to arrange for, and play, on just two harps! There are so many key changes, accidentals, rhythm and tempo changes, and different “feelings” to this iconic song. If you watch carefully you will see (and hear) a ton of pedal changes throughout the piece. Each string can be 3 different pitches on our pedal harps. We move the pedals to change the pitch of the strings (flat to natural, natural to sharp, etc). We can set the pedal harps to any key, but we have to change the pedals in order to have accidentals. So we often are changing pedals while we are playing. Everything you hear in our arrangement is exactly how we can perform it live with our 2 harps (and a shaker): no backing tracks, loops or overlays. Here is our take of a Peanuts / Charlie Brown classic - Our outfits (and dancing) in this video are an homage to “3 and 4” – the twin characters in the comics and cartoons! As some of you may know, we’re also classically trained in piano. We’ve had many requests to include piano/keyboard in a video, so here you go! We thought “Linus and Lucy” was the perfect song to include some keys! But you know us… of course we had to make things a bit more fun and challenging! ;) ;) So, we arranged this song to have combinations of harp and piano, just piano, and just harp! We thought it would be fun to figure out how we could switch seamlessly between instruments and we love the result! Our new silver Electro-Acoustic Pedal Harps make their YouTube debut! “Fade to Black" is our most requested song of all time, our 5th Metallica cover, and our longest Metallica cover to date! We wanted to do justice to this amazing song – and not just the most well-known portions.
